Club History

Early Sun City residents brought with them skills as actors, singers, dancers, writers and directors. It was inevitable that someone would say, “let’s do a show!”. A Night at the Palace was presented in 1994, the first of many original musicals. The stage was barely that, just a low platform and far from the facilities we now have.

Today the club presents several shows a year including a musical revue, a play, a musical and One Act Plays.

The Performing Arts Club is open to all residents of Sun City. Skill as a performer is not necessary, just a desire to be with one of the fun clubs in Sun City. In addition to performing on stage, there are lots of opportunities to work back stage – makeup, costumes, set building, stage management.

Dues are just $15 a year and $20 if you include a significant other.
